Eugene Nyathi: God's plan for us started in our mother's womb.
We all have or will have a moment where God will tell us where to go.... Don't waste your youth by making your own plans. We all face real decisions in our lives. When I was at an art college, I was offered a bursary to study in England, and I really wanted to travel the world... This opportunity made me struggle to make the right choice. Finally, I stayed in Zimbabwe where I grew in the plan of the Lord. Put aside your little plans even though sometimes they are tough to let go of...
I was able to relate in many ways to Eugene's calling. Regardless of the sacrifice I've had to make, I feel at peace within the Lord's plan. Greg, 24, South Africa
I was really touched during the meeting, because this is what I am busy living. I still cry to the Lord that He will enlighten me as to what He has for my life. Joana, 26, Mauritius
Lindsay Lajeunesse: The price to pay for being a disciple
To give up everything to serve the Lord, this doesn’t only mean to give up our country or our job, but it signifies giving our life daily and accepting the road of suffering. Jesus has not called me to be just a believer, but to be a disciple. Believers don't dare go forward, but disciples shake the nations and make other disciples. In the Bible, we see three types of obstacles that stop us from being disciples: our comfort, our family (if we put them first), and our emotions. (Luke 9:57 ; Luke 14:26). Find your joy in the Lord's service!
It's a state of heart that the Lord wants me to have, He isn't interested in my actions! Matt , 21, USA
It's only with the true gospel that I will be able to make disciples and become more and more mature. Jonathan, 26, South Africa
Miki Hardy: Live two lives.... or be free from the world?
1 Kings 18:20-21... Until when will you continue living two lives? Don't be fooled, Satan reigns in this world and he wants us to believe that certain things are acceptable in the church (homosexuality, some types of music or films, some things on the internet...). But the worst, is that some churches want us to believe that this is acceptable. True freedom, is to feel disgust for these things. Even though sometimes my flesh can be attracted.... but in my heart, I reject the impure things of the world! If our heart is cut-off from the world, our flesh will align itself. I don't believe it should be a constant struggle for a Christian. If you need things that can’t be found in the church, then you are still not free.
It's very serious! It’s not because I carry my cross that I should feel secure from these things. The enemy is waiting for the minute I will lay it down... I need to keep watch constantly. Kristi, 22, Zimbabwe
The meeting tonight was a turning point for me. It was clear that I needed to be set free, and I am sure that the Lord did this work today! Timothée, 17, France
Miki Hardy: Free from the world to finish the race
None of us is totally safe, even if we are free from the world in our heart (e.g: Demas Col 4:14 ; 2 Tim 4:9-10). Some men of God that I have known were ‘sold out’ for Christ, and now... they commit ‘spiritual adultery’. We must be able to discern the presence of the world in the church. Even a brother in Christ could represent a danger! There is a difference between the law, which prohibits us from doing something, and the spirit of the gospel, which allows us to sense worldly influences in our lives. The gospel is like a ‘spirit - level’ that keeps us in line: we need it every day of our lives to finish the race.
I realised the grace that I had to be in a place where the line between sin and the kingdom of God is clearly defined, Olivier, 16, Mauritius
The joy and the peace after the meeting was incredible as many victories were won in our hearts. Liezl, 19, South Africa
