“I've been to 11 countries and never have I seen a church family like this.”
"Though I had a Christian upbringing, I was an atheist, politician, and a businessman. I used to conduct God-seeking meetings to prove that there is no God… until one day, in one such gathering, I felt the hand of God on my shoulder and heard Him call my name. Weak in body and troubled in mind, I wept and asked God: ‘If this is truly You, then remove Your hand from me, and I will follow You all the days of my life!’ I was released and I pledged myself to follow Him.
I began my Christian life in 1991 as trainee, and I experienced many things with the Lord before the confirmation came that I was called to the ministry. I was saved from being set upon by my political adversaries, I saw the Hand of God from heaven, I worked amongst tribal people to bring the gospel to them…
The Northern States of India has 10,000 people groups who have never heard the gospel. So I started Shalom Mission International. Today, we have 2275 mission stations and missionaries with us; 124 churches, with the aim to appoint more missionaries, to evangelise, and also to do charity, social, and ministry work; to start orphanages, schools, old peoples homes as, in India, social work is essential to spreading the Gospel. Our goal is to reach all of the 28 states of India. Right now we are in 7 and, for that, we need 30,000 missionaries.
What spoke to me personally here was not just preaching the message of humility, but also seeing everyone living it! I hadn't really ever thought that there was need to put the flesh to death; but hearing what is preached here has made me re-evaluate my entire life! It was like a mirror, where I saw my state and I had to put things upon the altar.
I've travelled to 11 countries… and never have I seen a church family like this! The young people I met here are unique, in their submission and dedication, and they are so involved in the church activities! What special training they receive! We'd love to do the same for our students in India.
For me, the main fruit of this conference is the desire that we have to link with this apostolic and missionary team. They are ready to go anywhere. Our prayer now is to organise a conference with Miki and the team in Kerala, India, with all our leaders from the mission stations."
