"I am the first both to be blessed and challenged by the messages as I listen to them and translate them! The cross shook my life first!”
"I was a Muslim, till I met the Lord in 1985, I heard a preaching that was very hard to accept; it said: we should receive the Lord not only as our Saviour but as our Master. But I bowed the knee. Today, I am married with two children and serve as a Deacon in the Assemblies of God (AOG) in Mozambique.
In early 2005, Elijah Maswanganyi, Chairman of Trans World Radio in South Africa, asked me: "How do you find the state of the church in Mozambique?” I replied that I desired greatly to see Revival in the Church. Elijah encouraged me to pray to see my desire come to pass.
That December, Elijah said that friends from Mauritius would like to hold a conference in Mozambique, and could I help? I agreed, and I met with Gilbert who came to Maputo in January 2006, to present CTMI to local pastors. From there, we planned for the conference and also spoke also about the possibilities of having CTMI's message broadcast on the local TWR Affiliate FM station called Radio Capitale, where I work as Station Manager.
12 pastors of different denominations came together, and we worked to coordinate the first ever CTMI conference in Maputo in July 2006. That conference was a great success in that over 400 leaders attended and, for the first time in my country, the gospel of the cross was preached with great conviction and in such simplicity. Many pastors had their foundations shaken during these 4 days!
I had therefore started dubbing Brother Miki's messages to Portuguese from March 06. I was the first to be blessed and challenged by the messages as I heard them and then had to translate them! The message of the Cross shook my own life first! I realised that I had allowed so much mixture in my life and in my understanding of the gospel; that I needed the Lord to work in me from the foundation. I listen to each broadcast once it has to be aired as well! I receive calls and SMS from listeners virtually every day saying such positive things about the program. One sister, head of a large NGO, even told me that she considers this her ‘breakfast’ every Sunday… before she goes to church!!
As I left to come to the International conference, my pastor said goodbye to me. It was at our large church in central Maputo that we held the CTMI conference. He announced to the Church that I was going to Mauritius, and he also encouraged the church to listen to the radio program every Sunday morning and evening, saying that he listened to them regularly! I was so amazed, as I didn't know he had ever listened to even one of the broadcasts. When CTMI first came to Maputo, he, along with the denominational leadership, were very hesitant about unknown people coming to preach in their church building, especially under the 'apostolic' banner. There had been some strange things preached previously by others. But, since the conference, he agrees with both the message and ministry of CTMI. Another AOG pastor who works with him has proposed that the messages should be broadcast on our radio stations in the north of Mozambique, which we are looking in to.
I was so excited to be invited this year as I wasn't able to come last year! I was so challenged by the messages, there was a special anointing on the evenings...
During my time here, I have been thinking of taking these programs to all the other Lusophone (Portuguese Speaking) countries in Africa and the world. It is not right that only Mozambique hears these messages, there is also Angola, Guinea Bissau, Cape Verde and Sao Tome in Africa. On my return, I will speak to the director of Trans World Radio and, though I know everything has its time, it’s my desire that they may also hear the preaching of the cross!"
